Neighbourhood Walk - Learning Trip for Playgroup 2 (May 2011)

In line with the theme ‘Understanding Home & Community Around Us’ for Term 2, the Playgroup 2 children made a trip to the neighbourhood around the school. The children had the chance to see and learn the various amenities in the neighbourhood such as the wet market, food centre, provision shops, clinics, etc. For many of the children, it was an eye opener as they have never stepped into a wet market! Japan Tsunami Fundraising (Apr 2011)

Cherie Hearts Nurturing Land thank all parents for their kind donations towards the recent Japan tsunami and earthquake disaster. Through this fundraising effort, we have raised a total of $1,123.80 in cash. Our teachers have also explained to the children how the disaster has affected the Japanese and how their donations will help the victims and their familites. We will be passing the donated sum to Mercy Relief, one of the approved agencies for collecting donations for this cause. Once again, we thank you for supporting this initiative.

Hari Raya Celebration

As part of the Hari Raya celebrations, our children had fun trying on the Malay traditional costumes. They learnt the differences between a Kebaya and Baju Kurung, tasted the traditional Malay cookies and learnt the traditions and customs observed by Muslims during Hari Raya. To encourage parents to join in the fun and experience the festive mood, we set up a dress-up corner with traditional Malay costumes and had parents take beautiful family photos with their children... Our school held our Parents’ Involvement Day on 6 August 2010 in conjunction with the National Day Celebrations this year.
