An array of interesting enrichment programmes are offered by the Children's Repertoire (TCR) - the enrichment arm of Cherie Hearts Group at our centre.

Speach and Drama (English) In collaboration with ACTs of Life

Children will love the the vibrant themes that integrate the powerful spheres of storytelling, drama, music & dance, and visual art created to be discussed at home. We are excited to introduce endearing stories about Babar the Elephant in 2011, followed by more award-winning international books and materials. Sessions are conducted by a dynamic teaching team with a strong background in national arts organizations. Besides the regular class sessions, children will be given opportunities to learn more about the arts through bi-annual community field-trips and concerts. Each participant will be awarded an ACTs of Life Project Completion Certificate.

‘The Theatrical Kids’ (Chinese)

华文综合艺术表演课程

The Theatrical Kids is a unique integrated Speech and Drama programme where children will not only be immersed in performing arts but also be trained in the discipline of Chinese martial arts. Lessons are built upon thematic stories in each term. Based on the stories, drama, songs and speech exercises are developed. Besides an improvement in speech fluency and accuracy, the programme aims to build teamwork, confidence and self-discipline in each participant. To bring lessons to life, children are involved in the bi-annual field trips that are organized in line with the themes covered in the programme.

Our experienced performing arts and Wushu instructors will enable each child to experience a most unique form of art.

‘Whiz Kids’ (Multi-media)

Research shows that computer-based activities stimulate enthusiasm for learning in any situation and guided ‘computer use’ promotes self-confidence and independence in children.

  • Introduce students to the exciting world of computers and teach computer mastery skills
  • Teach students the proper and logical applications of the computer
  • Build confidence in a challenging, learning environment
  • Instill independence and enthusiasm needed to meet new challenges
  • Promote creative thinking strategies
  • Develop fine motor and virtual discrimination skills

Skills are taught using various child-oriented themes so as to provide students with practical computer literacy and computer mastery training in a fun-filled environment. Theme for Year 2011 - FUTUREKIDS FRONTIERS. In Futurekids Frontiers, the students apply their knowledge of computers in 10 technology areas: applied technology, databases, desktop publishing, graphics, multimedia, operating environments, programming, spreadsheets, internet and wordprocessing. Skills in these areas will be required to complete projects as the children explore innovative technologies, archeological discoveries, extraordinary sports, global ecology, adventurous destinations and the insightful vision of the new millennium.

Programme i-Bots

Programme i-Bots is a theme-based programme customed for pre-schoolers to experience Science and Technology in a very innovative way. In this highly hands-on and creative programme, children are introduced to the world of robotics through LEGO Education WeDo materials and activities. It encompasses specific subject-matter such as Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Language. Workshop Content :

  • Term 1 Amazing Mechanisms (Physical Science focus)
  • Term 2 Wild Animals (Technology focus)
  • Term 3 Play Soccer (Mathematics focus)
  • Term 4 Adventure Stories (Language focus)

The workshop models the 4C Learning Process – Connect, Construct, Contemplate and Continue, along with a project-oriented approach to integrate concepts across the curriculum. Their creativity and imagination are sparked as their hands are engaged in constructing models and ideas. And as they reflect on what they have done, their understanding is deepened.

The objectives of the workshop are to enable participants to:

  • think creatively to make working models
  • develop vocabulary and communication skills to explain how the model works
  • establish links between cause and effect
  • reflect on how to find answers and brainstorm for ideas
  • and present creative stories using models for visual and dramatic effects

The dedicated and trained programme instructors will enliven the lessons and make each session an enjoyable experience for the children.

Kindermusik

The Children’s Repertoire is pleased to collaborate with KinderMusik to bring quality children’s music programme to pre-school children. Music makes a child a better learner, teaches self-control, improves coordination, enhances creativity, and inspires a lifetime appreciation of music and movement. A multi-sensorial approach is used during the lessons and children will benefit in building social skills, strengthening memory and attention span, as well as hand-eye-coordination and physical coordination. Children will also get a boost in vocabulary with a variety of poems, songs and stories.

Palette Play (Visual Arts Programme)

A picture paints a thousand words. The Children’s Repertoire is proud to house a programme that allows pre-schoolers speak expressively through their hands and imagination. Unlike other art programmes that are product/skill-centred, Palette Play is learner-centred and the trainer facilitates and brings the children up to the next level from where they are. At the same time, children get exposed to a variety of materials and art processes. Hence, even with the same materials and processes, every child's work is different and has their personal style. The various art forms that will be covered include drawing, painting, clay, prints, mixed media, 3D (e.g. cardboard sculpture, mobiles). Trainers are passionate and experienced art practitioners whose unique styles and strengths will enhance the delivery of the programme.
